New Beginnings

Dear friends, I hope everyone had a lovely Easter and happy beginning of Spring! My blog has a new look. I updated the template and color scheme and decided to go with a simple white background so it's easier to read. I can post larger photographs now, and I like the way everything is framed nicely within a box.

I also switched my Blogger profile to my Google+ profile and added my Google+ friends on the sidebar here along with my Blogger friends. You can still easily find me by clicking on my profile and going to my blog link, Blogging Away. Thank you to all of you loyal followers who have been visiting, reading, and commenting. I do appreciate the support!

Last, but not least, I wanted to let you know that I have started a new blog that features my creative writing only (with occasional black and white photography). It's called Magic of Words and I've been having fun creating it! I have added the link on the sidebar here to be easily found. It includes a wide range of my writing from poetry to prose. I hope those of you who enjoy my writing will check it out. Some of my loyal blogging friends have already visited and been most supportive. Thanks, friends!

I will continue to blog here but the focus will be on what this blog was originally about--blogging away! I will share more of my personal life journey and continue to include poetry and photography as the muse inspires. Here is a picture I took in New York City (actually last year) of tulips in bloom with the Empire State Building in the background. I re-edited it and thought it was worth showing again at this beautiful time of the year. Enjoy and thank you again for your support! xx

Spring Ahead

Today, we Spring ahead as our clocks are set one hour forward. Days will seem longer now because it doesn't get dark until much later. But it takes a while to get used to the time change. Nature, on the other hand, seems to adjust to the change of seasons more easily. Sunlight shines softly on the first blooms sprouting out in the garden. My husband spotted crocuses in our back yard in the woods this weekend. It's amazing how these delicate flowers are budding amidst fallen leaves. He took these pictures with his phone and I edited them. This is my favorite--I love blue and pink colors together.

Here is a white crocus with some hints of purple in it. This one seemed to burst through the leaves adding life and renewal to the brown decay from last Fall. Spring is a beautiful rebirth.

And doesn't this crocus look like a little angel with open wings? I do love this one! Oh, the miracles of Spring on its way. Enjoy! xx

Meet Maggie, a beautiful Golden Retriever that belongs to my in-laws but I pet-sit her often. She smiles all the time and is truly a sweet dog. Today we went for a long walk on a sunny day though it's still a bit chilly in early March. But she didn't mind as she loves being outdoors (and so do I). Walking the dog is also a great way to get some healthy exercise!

Maggie loves to play fetch in the back yard. Here she is with her prized possession, her favorite toy that I toss around and she catches swiftly. She's a retriever for sure! She takes this game seriously, doesn't she? What an intense look! We had so much fun.

After playing hard, she loves to rest on the couch on her favorite flannel sheet which used to belong to my husband when he was a child. What a sweet life, don't you think?

Life is too busy sometimes that we forget what's important.

So this week I'm taking a few days off, and I'm spending some precious time with family and our sweet Maggie who reminds us that love is completely unconditional. xx
