She takes out her palette, watercolors, array of brushes and starts painting the sky. Golden hues, a touch of blue, a splash of pink. She fills in the clouds with a dark gray, not worrying about coloring outside the lines. She sketches tree silhouettes with black charcoal and draws a few leaves here and there. She edges in faint shapes and shadows of rolling hills in the background. With one last and swift brushstroke, she drops in the sun, adding a bit of mystic glow. She then stands back to watch her creation. Nature is the greatest artist. And I say, thank you, for this work of art, for there is nothing like ending the day with a violet sunset, knowing a new beginning is on the horizon.

This poetic prose piece was inspired by the sunset tonight, as I took a picture of the sky and felt grateful for such a beautiful sight and the many gifts of nature. Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving and thank you always for reading and your support. xx

Such a creation it is to see too, unless snow comes into view
ReplyDeleteOh indeed - there is no painter who surpasses 'Nature' herself. No human could ever manage to create such a beautiful piece. I assume you took this photo, Loredana. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAgree!!!
ReplyDeleteOh you have described Nature, the artist, perfectly...I look out every day to watch the sunrise and sunset and see the beauty Nature creates in her art! Fabulous poem Loredana!

ReplyDeleteIt's as if God created special colors for autumn....such a beautiful photo and poem. We try hard with our words and art media but we can never come close to touching the beauty of this time of year. Wonderful poem.
ReplyDeleteStunningly beautiful words and picture.
ReplyDeleteAha!! so beautiful painting:)
ReplyDeleteWe artists can only poorly mimic what Nature does without thought, just by being herself. Love the photo and the write,

It could be an artist, it could be Nature itself. I like that!
ReplyDeleteBeing a big fan of nature, I loved this. I also paint but not nearly as grand as Mother Nature.
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing out my error.
Bella foto dai bei colori...
ReplyDeleteUn abbraccio Loredana
