Unfolding Petals

i love the magic of words,
the way they unfold petals
of stories to be told

unlocking secrets
behind brick walls, unveiling
the ((center)) of our souls

written on pieces of skies,
the way words shine
or shed a tear

these petals are mine
to keep or give away
--without fear

I love writing as I find it to be a wonderful creative expression. I also love sunflowers, which inspired the imagery in my poem. I needed sunshine on yet another snowy day. This poem is posted for dVerse, where we are asked to write about something we love.

  1. nice...they are ours to choose to give away or keep near...
much like love as well...without choice
    it becomes something else completely

  2. Your photos are always so beautiful, Loredana! And I also love sunflowers...but it will definitely be a while before I see them. I like the idea of words unfolding stories. Excellent metaphor, one which will stay with me, I think. Especially in the (still) coldness of the winter!

  3. Beautiful words and pictures, Loredana! I like the idea of the words being petals written on pieces of skies to give away as we wish. I also think that honest poetry is a way to the center of our souls.
