Moonlight

i gave my heart to the moon
the moment i envisioned you
and never got it back

you held it captive
under your mesmerizing spell
oh, that irresistible iridescence

i cried out and you turned
tears into gold droplets
you enriched me

and now i whisper to the stars
basking in the moonlight
of your love

    1. Thank you, Mary. Originally I wrote ... the moment i "saw" you, but then changed it to ... the moment i "envisioned" you. I wanted to give it a more dream-like feeling.

    1. Thank you, Brian. I played with that line, too ... originally wrote it as "never asked for it back," but I wanted it to sound as if the heart had been stolen ... in a good way ... smiles :)
