imagine yourself
in the center
of a flower
lounging
on pillows
of soft petals
perfumed by
scent
of sweet nectar
as you drift
gently
into sleep
under
the fading light
of stars
a nightingale's
song-
your lullaby
I hope you're still reading and this poem hasn't mesmerized you into sleep! After a long day at work, it's nice to visualize something positive, take a deep breath, and relax into the night. At first, I imagined myself in a garden, but then I thought, what about in the center of a flower? Now that would be something, wouldn't it? This is posted for The Imaginary Garden, where MZ invites us to write a poem "in the safest place you've ever known."

So how does your garden grow?
ReplyDeleteAre the flowers high or low?
Are you in the middle or on the end?
You may regret your flower be trend lol
It's an imaginary garden surely
DeleteWhere flowers blossom eternally
I'm right in the middle there
Surrounded by colors everywhere :)
Flowers are eternally lovely ... I know why you chose to write about them.
ReplyDeleteOh this did mesmerize me............nowhere more peaceful and lovely than the centre of a flower.

ReplyDeletewow...this is so hypnotic...I can feel it. I am the flower. :)
