How do I express what is so intangible,
yet I feel it skin deep-
what I can't see,
yet it enhances my vision
It speaks to me as if in a foreign language,
yet I understand it
Like a red rose in a summer garden,
I would recognize its scent anywhere
its blossom, eternal
This love has no boundaries,
yet it is contained
in the tremble of my lips
as I gently kiss you goodnight
Happy Valentine's Day to all my lovely readers! May you be blessed with love today and every day. My poem was inspired by the question, "What is Love?" asked at the Imaginary Garden, and by my favorite quote by de Saint-Exupery below. Enjoy my love poem, my photograph of red roses in a summer garden, and my greeting card! xxoo
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;
what is essential is invisible to the eye-
Antoine de Saint-Exupery

ReplyDeleteAh yes, we should celebrate love every day :)
DeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely, Loredana! Love comes through clearly when explained through the explainable, all miracles of the everyday, just as the kiss your narrator offers to a child and you offer to us. The quote and the pics complete your story of abundance. That is one of my favorite quotes too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan, I enjoyed writing for your challenge. Love is a universal feeling, yet it's difficult to write about. I tried to write it from the heart and that seemed to work. Thanks for the question, what is love, which inspired the post :)
DeleteBeautiful as always Loredana. Happy Valentine's Day :)

ReplyDeleteLove is a boat with two oars. One is emotion, the other is mentality. Love is not blind! It has eyes. But, they see what they want to see. - Rita.
ReplyDeleteI like your expression: love speaks to me in a foreign language. It is true that love has no boundaries.
I enjoyed your poem, image, as well as the dreamy background.
The world would be bare without LOVE.
Love is the scent of the flower, the wings of as butterfly and the energy
of a poet's heart.
Oh that's a beautiful comment! Thank you so much for sharing your poetic words, Rita :)
