It's been so cold this week that I haven't been out taking pictures that much. Today, on my lunch break, I finally ventured out for a stroll in the city. Braving the cold was worth it as I had fun being creative with some of the photographs I took. Here, on 5th Avenue, I took a shot of the Empire State Building and then converted it to black and white to give it some moodiness. I like the silhouette of the person walking down the street, don't you?
Here, I was on Madison Avenue and 23rd Street. I couldn't resist and had to highlight that yellow cab, so characteristic of New York City. Cabs connect us to people and places.
On Broadway, the Flatiron Building features different art regularly as a window display. I really like this leopard! Check out the reflection of the cab in the window. Are they going to crash into each other? I wanted to give this shot movement and energy.
I love these colorful buildings in the Flatiron District on Broadway and 5th Avenue. They bring some cheerfulness and brightness to a cold winter day. And history, too.
I took this shot near the Madison Square Park. I like the bare trees juxtaposed to the building architecture. The sky is so blue with some dreamy clouds. Well, I'm sure glad I went out to get some fresh air! Enjoy and stay warm!
