Snowflakes fall,
as I dream of spring
beyond the white garden gate
Yellow daffodils
as bright as sunshine-
snow melting
My skin glows anew
like a silky tulip-
alluring
Hyacinths and the sky
as blue as your eyes-
mesmerizing
I awake in snow
from head to toe-
snow angel by my side
Not afraid to love
risking it all-
am I still dreaming?

It's snowing, and as much as I enjoy taking photographs of a winter wonderland, I was reminiscing spring today. Our poetic friends at Poetry Jam invite us to write a poem about "danger." I had to put a positive spin on this being the hopeless romantic that I am. I thought of second chances, taking a risk, and not being afraid to love again. Thus, this poem was born, or rather it bloomed like daffodils, tulips and hyacinths in spring.

My photographs are in response to the challenge at Pixel Dust Photo Art, where we are invited to post a photo with an "exit" or an "entrance." I thought of a garden gate as a metaphor for spring and new beginnings in my first photo. The third photo also has a gate along the water, as we walk along the journey of love, renewed and hopeful. This was so much fun. I hope you enjoy my post as much as I loved creating it!

Ha, your poem surely encouraged ME to dream of spring as well. I fear the snow will not be melting in a while. It is DANGEROUS to hope, I think. I haven't made a snow angel in a long time.
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, I think it's dangerous not to hope. We must keep hope alive in love and in life. Thanks for the visit and the thought-provoking prompt :)
Deletesmiles....there is a risk in love...and of dreaming as well...dangerous business but then again without either are we truly living....they say we will finally get snow tomorrow....we shall see...smiles.

Loredana, I love that photo of a garden gate, the joy in creating shows up beautifully in your words and photos! A nice positive spin:-)
ReplyDeleteSnowed here a ton yesterday and much more on the way. Can't wait for spring too, and more green to be in my view, like that shown by you.
ReplyDeleteIt may be long in coming but just! The spring feeling may just be by the corner. Nicely Loredana!
