Trail to Beach

amidst yellow blooms
in a green field by the sea,
she stands on a cliff
~ ~ ~
footprints on the sand
washed away by ocean waves,
seashells in her palm
~ ~ ~
a rock on the beach
brushing against the water,
seashore reflection

As promised, here is the first set of haiku and photos from my vacation to New England with my husband. This post is about our hike on a trail leading to the beach on Martha's Vineyard, an island off the coast of Massachusetts. Along the trail, there are beautiful yellow blooms in a vast green field, glistening in the sun.

As we walk on the trail, we can see the Atlantic Ocean in the distance.

There are fences along parts of the trail protecting the natural habitat.

The beach has rocks and sand dunes and the ocean is so blue.

Here is a panoramic view of the beach and cliffs overlooking the ocean.

A lighthouse stands tall on the cliff.

Enjoy my haiku and photos from the island. More to come on ocean views, sail boats, a hike in the woods, and other adventures. Stay tuned!
