You flew over the ocean, your wings open wide-
a sun ray, your guiding light,
while I wandered on endless sand,
among unforgettable footprints;
and gazed upon the ocean's waves,
rolling gently by the seashore-
rocks, my stepping stones,
the horizon was within reach;
in the calmness of the sea,
you found me again, renewed;
at dusk, merging with the stars,
glistening on the water-
you and me

Sharing my poem and photographs with our friends at Poetry Jam, where the topic this week is genre. I was inspired to write a poem with a romantic, fantasy, and philosophical mood. What would it be like to be a seagull flying over the ocean? In love with it all.
I thought I would try something different and write each stanza below each of my photos I took of the Atlantic Ocean last week. This was a great exercise in creativity, just going with the flow and writing from the heart, line by line--the ocean, my muse.
Thank you for letting me share my thoughts, photos, and poetry with you, and welcome all new followers and friends. Please visit http://poetryjaam.blogspot.com/ for more wonderful poems on genre.
