Summer Awakening

wouldn't it be wonderful if everything
had the most absolute perfection
as hydrangeas in the sun?

an explosion of colors:
blues, yellows, purples, pinks
like fireworks in the sky;

unmistakenly pure, no blemishes;
could we start over on a white canvas
and paint our lives again, no regrets;

summer awakening

I was inspired to write this poem by the beautiful hydrangeas that are popping up everywhere in a myriad of bright colors. I've been taking photographs this week and made a mosaic of all the different colors. Today's prompt at Poetry Jam at http://poetryjaam.blogspot.com/ is "mistakes." The prompt was thought provoking and made me realize that we all have a second chance in life. No matter what "mistakes" we think we have made in the past, we can always learn from them and start over. And what better start for a new awakening in glorious summer weather! Enjoy my photo and poem!

  1. Loredana, I really like where the "mistakes" prompt took your thoughts. We CAN begin again from wherever it is we find ourselves in life. I love thinking about and looking at hydrangeas in the sun.

  2. ah it is all in our perspective....even the blemishes add to our canvas...and not in bad ways for they all come together when viewed at a distance to make a much larger picture...

  8. The best thing is, (if we're lucky) we get another chance to begin all over again with the arrival of a new day, don't we?
